I have an apple tree in my backyard, and it produce so many apples, we don't know what to do with. This year, in light of my new brewing hobby, I juiced them! With the intention of turning it into hard cider. I bought 3 gallons from the store before, but it was pasteurized. I don't have much hope that it will clear up. But this latest juice I fully expect to.
This is how many we were able to salvage from our very late harvest:
Juicing:
We got nearly a gallon from a sink full of apples. This was part way through the process. I had to filter it through my fine mesh bag after the juicing. There was a lot of pulp left over. The yeast may break it down as it ferments, but I wasn't willing to take the chance.
