More Crochet Craft

My girlfriend and I dressed up as Ash and Misty for Halloween. I thought I would surprise her by making a pair of pokeballs that we can carry around with us, and inevitably throw at people.

I wanted this to get turned into a pillow case. But I lost my will to continue about 2/3 of the way through :( It's currently sitting unfinished in my yarn bucket.

Every once in  while I have this itch to make something for a friend of mine. I discovered this pattern, and thought it would make a great pillow. I couldn't decide which pair of colors to make it, so I just picked both.

How Many Hearts?

All of them I think. Everyone's heart broke a little when our favorite character Groot died saving his friends. And then they all rejoiced when he came back as baby Groot. I thought I would take a little advantage of all the 'cute' surrounding this character and make one.

I've shown him off to a number of different people, and he has remelted the hearts of every one that was left vulnerable to his charm. The picture doesn't do him justice. He looks a little like Jack In-The-Box. But in person, he's as amiable as you could ever hope.

I don't have a pattern for this guy... I built him from scratch. There are a few uneven parts due to my inconsistency, but they are hardly noticeable. I still have no idea the right way to do arms. I had to use a piece of thread to constrict his arms at the wrist.

Wedding Presents Can Be So Fun!

Marriage can be such an awesome thing. For the people getting married, it's exciting, it's a new chapter in life, and a new adventure they most likely have never embarked on. For every one else, it's a little melancholy. But what better way to send your two friends off together than giving them a gift you know they'll appreciate?

Anyway, I had two friends who got married a little while back. Some of the greatest people I know. They met each other at a camping trip, and they bonded over Pokemon. So I thought it would be sweet to crochet them a Pokemon! I didn't exactly grow up with Pokemon. I was more of a SpongeBob, and Star Wars kind of kid, so I had a hard time trying to decide which Pokemon they would most appreciate. After pouring over so many tiny animated creatures, in an attempt to acquaint myself with the universe, I stumbled upon Umbreon! I remember hearing in the past that Umbreon was quite popular. So I searched for crocheted Umbreons to see if I could find some sort of inspiration for my hopeful project. I was lucky enough to find some one who went through the effort of creating a pattern, and offered it for free! These people are literally the heroes of the crafting world. Here are the fruits of my labor. His final evolution (See what I did there?). Sorry for the poor picture quality, but I only had a potato on hand. Took me a little over 6 hours.

My friends recently had a party, to celebrate his 500th hour in Pokemon X. So here is Umbreon, out in the wild!

I have the coolest friends.
